EMPOWER HER UPDATES
Supporting women's health is an important part of what we do - through yoga, movement, holistic treatments, creative activity, and more. We recently launched a crowdfunder - EMPOWER HER - and thanks to the support of our local community and funding from Shropshire Council, we're delighted to offer a series of classes, workshops and events to support and educate women in Shropshire.
Through our programme, we will provide paths to better physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, from puberty to menopause. We will offer free and affordable supportive yoga classes, workshops, education, holistic therapies, support groups and more for women's underserved health needs.

Join us for a nurturing and empowering workshop exploring the beautiful connection between yoga and hormonal health, led by Hattie Thorpe-Gunner.
As women, our hormones move in a constant rhythm throughout the month — impacting our energy, mood, focus, and emotional wellbeing. Yet many of us were never taught how to understand or work with these natural changes.
In this gentle, welcoming session, you’ll:
✨ Explore the four phases of the menstrual cycle
✨ Learn how yoga can support each stage and your overall hormonal balance
✨ Enjoy supportive movement, breathwork, and a guided relaxation
✨ Leave with practical tools to nourish your body and support your cycle through mindful movement
Whether you have a regular cycle, are navigating perimenopause, or simply want to feel more connected to your body, this workshop is open to you.

About the Empower Her Project
This workshop is part of the Empower Her Project — a Shropshire-based campaign working to make holistic health support accessible for all women and girls, from puberty to menopause.
We aim to fill the gap in mainstream healthcare by offering free and highly subsidised classes, workshops, and therapies to support physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. Our core values are rooted in community, education, and connection, and we’re proud to provide safe, inclusive spaces for women to explore their health in a kind and supported way.
This session is free to attend, with donations warmly welcomed from those who are able to contribute on the day. Your generosity helps us continue to create opportunities like this for others.

Empower Her Project presents ~ Harmony Through Aromatherapy: A Workshop for Hormone Balance with Heather Smallbone

Join us for a calming and empowering aromatherapy workshop where you’ll explore the deep connection between scent and self-care, and how essential oils can gently support your hormonal health and emotional wellbeing.
Led by experienced aromatherapist Heather Smallbone, this hands-on session will guide you through the therapeutic benefits of essential oils that can help relieve stress, fatigue, mood swings, and hormonal imbalances.

Empower Her Project presents:~ Menopause Yoga with Jess Sewell

Join us for a three-week block of supportive Menopause Yoga sessions designed to nourish and empower women navigating perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. Each 90-minute class offers a calm and restorative space to gently move, breathe, and reflect — with time set aside for open conversation and connection, should you feel comfortable sharing.
Over the course of the three sessions, you’ll explore:
✨ Gentle, specially adapted yoga sequences to ease physical symptoms
✨ Breath techniques to calm the nervous system and support hormone balance
✨ Guided meditations for emotional wellbeing
✨ A safe, understanding space to feel seen, supported, and heard
These sessions are led by the compassionate Jess Sewell, whose yoga journey began over 25 years ago during her nurse training. As a mother, long-time yoga teacher, and graduate of the renowned Menopause Yoga training with Petra Coveney, Jess brings both personal understanding and professional experience. Her teaching centers on using breath and movement to release tension and reconnect with a sense of calm and freedom.

Women’s Health Acupuncture – Group Session with Julia Ugrinic
Saturday 26th July | 12pm – 1pm | Jenna Blair Yoga Wellbeing Centre

Join us for a nourishing and restorative group acupuncture session designed to support women’s health and emotional wellbeing across all life stages — from the first period to post-menopause.
Led by qualified acupuncturist Julia Ugrinic from Green Rose Acupuncture, this gentle session is part of the Empower Her Project, a community-led initiative offering free and low-cost holistic support to girls and women throughout Shropshire.
✨ What to expect:
You’ll be invited to lie down on a yoga mat in a calm, welcoming space. Acupuncture needles are gently placed in the lower arms and legs — no undressing required — and you can rest with an eye mask while the treatment supports your body’s natural balance. Many leave feeling calm, grounded, and deeply connected to themselves.
✨ Why acupuncture for women’s health?
Acupuncture can support hormone regulation, menstrual health, fertility, PMS, perimenopause, menopause, emotional wellbeing, and more. Whether you’re managing stress, irregular cycles, or simply seeking space to pause and reconnect, this session offers a powerful first step.
✨ Who is it for?
This session is suitable for anyone aged 12 and over (under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian). Not suitable during pregnancy.

The Empower Her Project exists to bridge a vital gap in women’s healthcare by making holistic therapies, education, and community support more accessible to everyone.
This session is part of our wider mission to create inclusive, supportive spaces where women and girls in Shropshire can come together, feel seen, and access gentle, professional care. We’re focused on offering holistic support in an area that affects so many, yet remains under-resourced.
Our ambition is simple: to reach and support women who might otherwise struggle to access the care they deserve.
