Create and Connect ~ A Mixed Media Drawing Workshop for Spring with Delny Fitrzyk
Sunday 11 May | 1 - 4:30pm | £25
Drawing is a wonderful way to connect to the present moment and relax but often we don’t know where to start or can fear making the first mark. Mixed media (combining and experimenting with materials) is a great way into drawing, helping to unleash creativity. It is playful and intuitive – the emphasis being on exploring processes and materials.
During this workshop we will look to nature for our inspiration, specifically Spring. We will explore the form, textures and colours of natural forms such as spring flowers, blossom, bulbs, seeds, pods and buds. We will record what we observe in a variety of ways using combinations of materials such as ink and bleach, wax and ink, charcoal, graphite, fine liners and much more. We will start with some informal drawing exercises, followed by some demonstrations of techniques, then you will be free to explore the materials at your own pace creating your own Spring inspired mixed media drawing.
You will be guided through the creative process by Delny Fitrzyk – a Shropshire based, mixed media textile artist and experienced art teacher.
All materials will be provided so there is no need to bring anything unless you want to. No artistic experience or creative ability needed – just a willingness to have a go!
Tea, coffee and refreshments provided.
